Fans Turn Over New Leaf For Book Week

Nil by Mouth are delighted to be taking part in Book Week Scotland 2021 which runs from 15th-21st November.

Daniel Gray brings his cultured left hand to Irvine

The charity will bring acclaimed author and broadcaster Daniel Gray to perform in front of members of Ayrshire Football Memory Groups at Irvine Meadow’s ground this Wednesday 17th November. The group help support people with conditions such as Alzheimer’s which can seriously impact on their memories. Members and their carers find the group of huge assistance and football is a way of allowing people to reconnect with themselves through the sport. Daniel visited the group in 2019 and was hugely popular so we are delighted to bring him back for the second leg!

Meanwhile pupils at Burgh Primary School in the Scottish Borders will enjoy a morning of Scots speaking and fun with Laura Green presenting her Scots Bookbug sessions including a reading of Carey Morning’s ‘Neeps and Tatties’ book which the charity will once again be making freely available to school from St Andrews Day.

Book Week Scotland is an annual celebration of books and reading with online and ‘in-person’ events running across the country. Its ran brilliantly by the Scottish Book Trust and to find out what’s happening near you visit: www.scottishbooktrust.com/book-week-scotland
