Celebrating Book Week Scotland

Book Week Scotland kicks off on Monday 14th November and Nil by Mouth will once again be joining in the celebrations by hosting an event featuring Daniel Gray and Peter Ross

Daniel Gray will be in conversation with Peter Ross at Irvine Meadow football stadium.

Our dynamic duo will join members of the Irvine Meadow Wednesday Club on the 17th

November to discuss Daniel’s love of football and Peter’s keen interest and sharp observations around how places shape us.

The Irvine Meadow Wednesday Club meet every week and brings together local football

fans to share stories and experiences about the beautiful game. Speakers this year have

included Archie MacPherson and Rose Reilly.

This week will see the release of Daniel Gray’s latest book ‘The Silence of the Stands’ which

sees the Yorkshireman explore the impact of Covid restrictions on the game and the fans

who bring it to life. Peter Ross is a critically acclaimed journalist and author with a unique

gift for seeing the world through kinder eyes. His next book ‘Steeple Chasing’ will be

published in May 2023.

Book Week Scotland – now in its eleventh year – is an annual celebration of books and

reading that takes place across the country in November. During Book Week, people of all

ages and walks of life come together to share the joy of reading. Together with Scottish

Book Trust's curated programme, partners deliver hundreds of unique, exciting events and

activities that celebrate the transformative power of reading. They are joined in this

celebration by Scotland’s authors, poets, playwrights, storytellers and illustrators to bring a

packed programme of events and projects to life. For more information on events near you
